I’ve done it. Have you? Have you thought back to a conversation you had with someone, or even just an interaction with somebody and analyzed the WHOLE SHABANG!?? Who’s pointing the fingers? are you? is it the other party? are you feeling self-righteous? are you ABSOLUTELY 100% in the right? well, if you are, then why are you asking me? why are you asking me if you’re wrong? or if I had seen or heard what so and so said to you? Why the hell are you so red in the face and all puffy?
Believe you me people… I don’t like to apologize and I dislike being wrong or in the wrong even more! But if so and so hadn’t a done this or that, well then I certainly wouldn’t have had to do this or that or say what I did.
Sound familiar? You betcha! And I witness it on almost an hourly basis. People flock to me. They bring their injustices or righteous indignation to my feet and almost plead for my opinion or advice on their particular case or situation.
This is of course a no win situation for me, although to be truthful, I don’t expect to win something since I have nothing to gain by giving my advice or view point, nor do I believe it is a game, so of course, I have no expectation of winning.
The sad part is that I look at these people and wonder how they can be in denial about their actions. They were cruel and hurtful in their deliberately spiteful words that they chose to flung at the other person, whom, might I add was just as injured or hurt and emotionally tramatized by their own actions, because why, they felt guilty. Of course, people could save themselves that emotion if they just lived their live on the up and up and as honestly as possible.
And then you have to reconcile that with, that what you’re doing is for you and not intended to hurt the other person. I’m fairly certain that that is one of the best ways to resolve that.
But, don’t take my word for it, people rarely do and then they come to me to try and fix it or clean it up. Almost every hour on the hour.
At least people trust me and respect my opinion and view point enough to even consult me. And like all beings, they must make their way in life based on their own thoughts, not mine. Someone save me.
